Poison Ki
Cost: 25 Option Points
This Ki power allows the user to use their own Ki to poison another's life energy. The user of this ability must make successful physical contact with the target for one full action; this may simply be laying one's hand upon an unsuspecting victim, or it could be used in combat, in the round following a successful Grab attack. Using this Ki Power is considered a full action.
To use Poison Ki, one must succeed with a Will + Focus Ki skill roll versus a difficulty number equal to the target's Con + Current Ki Point Total + 10. The successful use of Poison Ki results in the poisoning of the victims life energy which immediately inflicts 1DC of Killing Damage on the victim, and an additional 1DC of Killing Damage every day until their life energy is cleansed. This Killing Damage is not affected by Armor or Damage Reduction. Furthermore, the victim will lose a number of points from their Physical Characteristics (STR, CON, and BODY) equal to 1/5th of the damage rolled on the die (that is, the victim loses 1 point from those characteristics on a damage roll of 5 or 6, and none on a 1-4). When the victim has any characteristic reduced to zero, they are considered bedridden and incapacitated. When they have sustained enough damage to kill them, then they are dead.
Successful or not, the use of Poison Ki costs one Ki Point. An unsuccessful Focus Ki roll results in no effect.
Damage from Poison Ki cannot be healed normally until one's life energy is cleansed. This may be accomplished by a exceptionally skilled physician (against a DN of 22). Curing may also come at the hands of a priest casting Blessing or Purification. Casting Breathe Life also will work, though it's a bit of overkill.
The prayer Heal Wounds will not cure the afflicted of their poisoned life energy; however it will heal any damage incurred up to the point of healing. Damage will continue normally after that.
Protection from Poisons and Stop Poison will have no affect on the recipient of Poison Ki, as it is not really poison, rather, it is a corruption of the life force.
